Adult Services

ELS/Citizenship Classes
This class prepares applicants to pass the examination to become naturalized citizens of the United States. The class includes study of American history, the Constitution and federal, state and local governments. Students learn how to apply for citizenship and how to pass the written exam and oral interview.   Class Schedule: TBA

English as a Second Language (ESL)
The ESL  program at the HCCNH offers non-native speakers of English the opportunity to improve their language skills.  ESL students enjoy small class sizes and a personalized approach to learning.

Computer Training Classes
We provide computer classes in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Windows, and Internet Explorer.    Class Schedule:  TBA

Haitian Creole Classes
This course introduces both the spoken and the written language with conversational proficiency as the primary goal. The course emphasizes grammar, oral expression, and listening comprehension, and is designed to give beginning students a practical command of the language.  Class Schedule: TBA


Youth Services

After School Program
To prevent child delinquency and school dropout, the HCCNH offers an After School Program to the children of the Haitian Community in Manchester, NH and surrounding communities.  The program is designed to provide homework assistance, tutoring,  and academic enhancement.  For more information regarding the program, please contact sduclair@hccofnh.com.

Domestic Violence
Domestic violence
 occurs when a family member, partner or ex-partner attempts to physically or psychologically dominate another. Domestic violence often refers to violence between spouses, or spousal abuse but can also include cohabitants and non-married intimate partners. Domestic violence occurs in all cultures; people of all races, ethnicities, religions, sexes and classes can be perpetrators of domestic violence. Domestic violence is perpetrated by both men and women.  Domestic violence has many forms, including physical violence, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, intimidation, economic 
deprivation, and threats of violence. Violence can be criminal and includes physical assault (hitting, pushing, shoving, etc.), sexual abuse (unwanted or forced sexual activity), and stalking.  If you feel you are in danger, please call 911 immediately for assistance.  For additional assistance or information regarding our referral and counseling services, please contact us at 603.627.0331.


Police Brutality
Police brutality is the intentional use of excessive force, usually physical, but potentially also in the form of verbal attacks and psychological intimidation, by a police officer.  It is in some instances triggered by "contempt of cop", when a police officers perceives there is a disrespect towards police officers.  Police brutality is one of several forms of police misconduct, which include false arrest, intimidation, racial profiling, political repression, surveillance abuse, sexual abuse and police corruption.  If you feel you are a victim of Police Brutality and are in danger, please call 911 immediate.  For assistance and information, please contact us at 603.627.0331.
